SPONSORED BIKE RIDE: It’s time to pay up your sponsorship money! Trish (and Tinto) walked to nine churches Fr Stephen walked to twelve. Thank you again to everyone who sponsored them, or acted as a steward during the day.
THE FIRST COMMUMION WORK-BOOKS made by Anika Prendergast, Abigail Matsika, Hubert Stulgis, Lily Monlouis, Ruby-Anne Stamp and Max Thorgrimsson are all at the Presbytery, awaiting collection! If parents can pick them up, or trustworthy people undertake to deliver them, that would be good!
TWELVE PEOPLE TOLD FR STEPHEN that they thought “Our Lady and St Joseph, Folkestone” was a good name for the amalgamated parish; two people proposed alternatives, and Bishop Paul emailed him from Rome to say he liked Our Lady and St Joseph.
QUIZ NIGHTS - There will be a QUIZ NIGHT on Saturday, October 1st, at 7.30pm in OLHOCSA Parish Hall, and a QUIZ AFTERNOON on Saturday, October 2nd, at 2.00pm in St Joseph’s Parish Hall to raise funds for the Halls. A Feast of Quizzing - should be good! So turn up and have fun!
THE OLHOCSA CHRISTMAS FAYRE is on Saturday, Nov. 19th, which is early to say the least, but at least it ensures that we’ll be at the front of the Christmas rush. Put it in your diaries, tell your friends, and be prepared! Grand Draw tickets available TODAY! (At the back.)
CONFIRMATION PHOTOS - Individual photographs of your child with Bishop Paul and their sponsor are now available for purchase directly from Oliver O'Connor, Photographer, 47, London Road, Dover, Kent CT17 0SP. (01304 207876).
DEANERY MISSION 2017. There will be speakers at masses on October 8th/9th, and an open meeting at Dover on the Sunday afternoon to learn more. (Bishop Paul is coming to St Joseph’s that Sunday, too)
MORE SINGERS NEEDED! – Practices for this year’s Advent Carol Service begin on Thursday, October 6th. The Advent Carol Service takes place on Advent Sunday (November 27th) at 6.00pm at Guildhall St. Please think about coming to join the Singing Group for this. This year we’ve invited St Joseph’s people to come & sing with us. Remember - you don’t have to be a brilliant singer to join in - which is why we give ourselves plenty of time to learn our pieces! We practise in the Parish Hall on Thursdays at 6.00pm.
