• Christmas Nativity with Carols at St Joseph’s on Sunday, December 11th, at 4.00pm
• The PARISH CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICE at St Joseph’s on Sunday, December 18th, at 6.00pm.

CHRISTMAS CRIB: Help is needed, please, to put up the Christmas Cribs up at both Our Lady HoC and St Joseph’s - on Thursday December 15th, or the following couple of days. They shouldn’t be up any earlier! Then they’ll be in place for the Mass with the SVP on December 17th (at 12.00 noon!) and the Christmas Carol Service at St Joseph’s on December 18th. (and not duplicating the Nativity on Dec 11th!) I think this is a job for the usual suspects, but do contact Fr Stephen or Deacon Gehad.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS! SIGN UP NOW! Corpus Christi (June 18th, 2017) is the occasion for 1st Holy Communion in 2017. If your child entered Year 3 in September 2016, and you think he or she will be ready to receive the Sacrament of Holy Communion by next summer, please take a form from the back of the church, complete it, and return it with YOUR CHILD’S BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE, to Stella Maris by December 29th. Classes will be at Stella Maris on Wednesdays, from 3.30pm to 4.15pm, and the first class is on Wed., January 4th, with a meeting at Stella Maris for children AND PARENTS!
THE PARISH HALL – PARISH MEETING! The meeting about the Hall at Guildhall St is tomorrow, Monday, December 5th, at 7.30pm. It’s important that the people who came to the meeting on Nov. 7th about the Hall come back and contribute to our making a decision as a parish about the way forward.

It seems to me that we fundamentally need to decide between 1) refurbishing the Hall with the money we already have, mainly but not exclusively for parish use; 2) submitting a lottery bid for sharing the Hall with the community using the building plans drawn up by Godden Allen Lawn that we saw last time; and 3) submitting a lottery bid for sharing the Hall with the community using a fresh set of building plans.

A lot of thought and hard work has gone into getting us to where we are, and it needs to be clear what we as a parish are willing to take responsibility for doing, and what not. Even if you DIDN’T come on November 7th, you can still come on December 5th!

THE 100 CLUB: The December bonus draw of £50.00 will take place today, after the 11.00am Mass.
MASS ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17th will not be at 10.00am, but AT 12.00 NOON at St Joseph’s (immediately before the SVP Christmas Dinner in St Joseph’s Hall).
PLEASE RECYCLE YOUR USED STAMPS – Please place them in the box at the back of Our Lady HoC, to help raise funds for the Kent Air Ambulance.
